The ABC’s of Art (Ages 6-8)
Go on an art exploration with a studio artist/teacher and learn to work in the style of famous artists, experiencing the materials and art techniques used by that particular artist. Each week is a new adventure starting with a different letter of the alphabet! Sign up for both sessions to learn more about the ABCs of Art!

Draw Your Own Digital Comic Books (Ages 8-12)
Create your own comic books in our Digital Arts Studio
with the use of a Mac computer and software made
especially for you to use as a creative tool. Make your
own characters and stories come to life!

Heartfelt Bunny (Ages 8 & up)
Learn the art of needle felting and make a cute
little bunny, small enough to be used as a charm for
a keychain or cell phone. Using wool roving you will
learn to mold and shape forms and add personality
to finished projects. By adding a small envelope with
a secret message you can make this a great gift for
Valentine’s Day.

Wearable Art with Penny (Ages 9-12)
Make a fabulous no-sew poncho and hat in this fun
workshop. Create unique looks by adding your choice

This is a class especially for the youngster that enjoys

Furry Guinea Pig
(Ages 4-6 w/adult, Ages 8 & up
adult not required)
Make your own special pet guinea pig, selecting
combinations of furs and using simple hand sewing
stitches to create a unique stuffed animal. It is very easy to sew and will be lots of fun to own.

From Lanterns & Lightning Bugs
to the Night Sky & Caves

Learn about the themes of light and dark by

the Phelps Youth Pavilion.

Torch Fire Metal Clay Jewelry
Make a piece of silver jewelry in one afternoon using
PMC (precious metal clay) and torch firing. Metal clay
can be worked like clay but when the piece is fired and
finished it is pure silver. Learn this new way of working
metal and the newest firing technique to make a piece
of your choice: ring, pendant or pair of earrings.

CULTUREFEST 2010
Experience the amazing and diverse culture of the
Cedar Valley at the 3rd annual CultureFest. This free
family event will showcase cultural performances by
local students and artists, international food samplings,
informative displays and more! The evening will also
play host to the opening of the All-School Art Exhibition
featuring the talents of local K-12 students. All are
welcome!

10-DAY ART & CULTURE
EXCURSION TO SPAIN

Discover the vibrant art and culture of Spain during
this exciting 10-day trip. The tour will take you through
scenic Toledo, the rolling hills of Granada, Seville and
Spain’s capital city, Madrid. For an additional fee, add a 3-day extension trip to Barcelona where you can savor tapas, and admire the architectural works of Antonio Gaudi. Trip is open to adults 18 & up, and college students currently enrolled at community college or university. Fees include airfare, transportation, museum admissions, lodging and daily meal plan.
