Max Allan Collins

The exposition has been named in honor of accomplished and influential Iowa filmmaker Max Allan Collins. Collins directed and executive-produced Mommy, a suspense film, and he performed the same duties for a sequel,
Mommy's Day. The recipient of two Iowa Motion Picture Awards for screenwriting, he wrote The Expert, an HBO world premiere film, and he was Creative Consultant on Dick Tracy for which he wrote the bestselling novel. Collins also wrote the book Road to Perdition, on which the major motion picture is based. One of the publishing industry's leading authors of movie tie-in novels, he has written the international bestsellers In the Line of Fire, Maverick, Waterworld, Daylight, Air Force One, and Saving Private Ryan. He has written two original NYPD Blue novels, Blue Beginning and Blue Blood. Collins is currently writing for the wildly-popular CSI franchise.

Andy Brodie
Born and raised in Ames, Brodie is a writer and filmmaker with a background in journalism. He is Program Director of the Bijou Theater, a non-profit, student-run cinema at the University of Iowa.
Tad Davis
An MFA candidate at the University of Iowa, Davis’ films have been screened at the Iowa City International Documentary Festival, Oxford Film Festival, Arizona State University Art Museum Short Film and Video Festival, the Hi Mom! Film Festival, Real to Reel Film and Video Festival, Calgary Fringe Film Festival, Rome International Film Festival, and Great Lakes Film Festival, among others. He has won best student short narrative at the CR Independent Film Festival, and best film at the Flicker Film Festival.
Todd Fossey
Fossey spent ten years in LA as an actor, writer, producer, and director of TV, film and theatre. His most recent project, Overnight, is a critically acclaimed documentary that was an official selection of the 2004 Sundance Film Festival and received “two thumbs up” from Roeper and Ebert.
Brad Hansen
Hansen graduated from the University of Iowa in 2005 after making countless live-action and animated short films, including the year-long project Lemonade. He has crewed on several major motion pictures including Batman Begins, The Ice Harvest, The Final Season, and the upcoming Morgan Freeman film Ten Items or Less.
Insane Mike Saunders
Living and working in Ottumwa, IA, Saunders is an independent filmmaker operating his own production company, Prescribed Films. His films Souvenir and Bag Man are featured at the Max Allan Collins Film Expo.
Francesca Soans
Assistant Professor at the University of Northern Iowa and a working independent filmmaker, Soans’ work has been screened at international festivals in Europe, the U.S. and Asia as well as broadcast on public and cable television stations.
Gregory Wilcox
Born in Des Moines, Wilcox holds a BA degree in computer science. His short films Fortunate Son and Homage to a Catalonian Christmas have played in nearly thirty film festivals.
Lane Wyrick
A filmmaker and President of Xap Interactive, Inc., Wyrick has won numerous awards for his documentary work including his film The Nazi Drawings. He is currently working with Academy Award winning screenwriter Barry Morrow (Rain Man) to create a documentary feature on the life of Bill Sackter.
