About the event

Join us for a lecture, gallery talk and reception focused on the new exhibition, Fleuve: Revolution of Freedom & Flow on Thursday, July 24.

FLEUVE showcases Jacob Lawrence's The Life of Toussaint L’Ouverture, a series of 15 screenprints, dedicated to the life of the leader of the Haitian Revolution. These stunning and rarely shown works of art are paired with objects from the WCA Haitian Art Collection, and guest curated by Dr. Petrouchka Moise, Assistant Professor/Cultural & Community-based Digital Curator at Grinnell College Burling Library.

This exhibition was organized in partnership with the Grinnell College Museum of Art (GCMoA) and the Haitian Arts Digital Crossroads (HADC), a grant project by Grinnell College Libraries and the Waterloo Center for the Arts.

Thank you to Friends of the Art Center for sponsoring this reception.
