Forsberg Riverside Galleries

UNI Assistant Professor Riva Nayaju is an architect and graphic designer specializing in typography, motion graphics, and print design. This exhibition represents her expressive work in watercolor and ink showcasing the temples, houses and streets of her home country Nepal. A daily painting challenge since the summer of 2024, each painting is a narrative,

"a silent conversation with the past, reflecting Kathmandu's timeless charm and

spiritual essence."

NEPALESE MASKS
& FIGURES
On view July 1 - November 2, 2025
Forsberg Riverside Galleries

A collection exhibition to accompany Riva Nayaju's, Echoes of Kathmandu Valley. These striking, fragile masks and figures from Nepal reflect the complex culture and history of

that country. The objects were a bequest to the Waterloo Center for the Arts in 2019 by

the Kohler Foundation whose many initiatives include the preservation of art by

self-taught artists.
